Mental ABILITY, Not Disability

Hey, y'all! I've kinda been at a writer's block lately with my ADHD, but now, I'm back with another post yay haha ☺️ I figured it was about time to write in-depth about how my mental health has affected not only me but also millions of others. Mental illnesses are often VERY undermined and misunderstood. "Oh it can't be THAT bad, you're just over-exaggerating"  - I have heard that sentence and sentences similar to that way too many times in my short lifetime. However, the people who normally speak to others like that are simply just uneducated and frankly can't mind their own businessπŸ˜‚. I mean, if those people knew what kind of pain some suffer from, they would keep their mouth shut. Often times, people bring others down to make themselves feel better (I know, really selfish and cruel right?). Anyways, mental health issues are so much more complex than "psycho" or "crazy". Did you know that there are more than 200 classified fo

Journal Entry From February 2nd, 2020

Hey y’all! Once again, I apologize for being so inactive... I was actually working on stuff for the first couple of months since my last post!! then i got busy with school and well... my chromebook stopped working :(. So now I am currently writing this intro on my iPad since I owe yall some content! I hate how Blogger doesn’t have an app for apple yet, but I actually do not mind typing this on the safari website. We can make this work!! Anyways, today’s post is something I wrote in the notes section of my phone almost a year ago, back when my anxiety was at an all time HIGH! If you don’t follow my private Christian IG blog ( @god_.is_.within_.her ), then this will be your first time reading it. I promise I am working on more newer content ASAP, but for now enjoy and happy holidays!! “  okay i can’t sleep atm and i am in the mood to talk to y’all about Jesus so enjoyyy :)) here’s the funny thing about anxiety disorders- it tricks you into thinking that you have something even more wrong

Hiatus Explanation...

Hi everyone! I hope y'all are staying safe and healthy during these crazy times πŸŽ” It's been a WHILE since my last blog post (about 4 months I think?), and for that, I apologize. I know I don't have a huge following here since I'm still new and to get popular you probably have to post very frequently (which is hard for a high school senior!) but I will try my best to get better. I actually have like 5 rough drafts of possible posts, I just haven't really had the time to finish them. Lately, I've have had a huge writer's block as well, so that hasn't been helpful☹️ My family and I have been having a very stressful two months; we've decided to move out of state sooner than we planned and there's been a ton of chaos that has followed that decision. Also in the midst of showing our house, our favorite dog, Sugar, passed away. It wasn't totally unexpected because she was 12 years old and had a collapsed trachea (which is common for her specific br

What Would Jesus Do? He Would Love First

Have you ever had someone betray your trust? I'm not just talking about some random stranger on the street; an important individual of who you deeply value their opinions. Recently, I have dealt with a ridiculous amount of drama (does anyone else feel like drama just follows them wherever they go??). Anyways, I've had to make some tough decisions that in the end have helped me grow in my relationship with God TREMENDOUSLY.  I have learned that you need to pay attention to the red flags people give off; and if you are having trouble deciphering what the right decision is, talk to God! Usually when something feels off or like it probably isn't a bad idea, listen to that! The Lord gave us intuition for a reason... use it! When all else fails... P R A Y . Prayer is honestly one of my favorite things in the world, I know that might sound cheesy, but it’s true. Prayer is one of the many ways we can communicate with God, and any little prayer can have a major impact. And even when

Happy Easter everyone! I apologize for how long it's been since I have last posted. I've been in sort of a writer's block :/ . But I am back and just in time for Easter, one of my favorite times of the year! When I was younger, I associated Easter with egg hunts, bunnies, and fun crafts with my mom or one of my grandmas. I actually never believed in the Easter bunny though, my family and I all agreed it took away the true purpose of the holiday. I knew it had something to do with my family's faith, but it wasn't until I got older that I realized just how special this holiday was. On Good Friday, this is one of the darkest times in our history. Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ was brutally murdered on that old, rugged cross. He paid the ultimate price so we can be free from our sins; He CHOSE to die for us. Do y'all realize just how awesome that is?! Someone loves us so much, that He is willing to sacrifice his life for us so we can live eternally with God in H

P A N I C

In times of panic, it's human nature for our brains to go into a fight or flight response. The definition of fight or flight is  a physiological reaction that occurs in the presence of something that is terrifying, either mentally or physically. The response is triggered by the release of hormones that prepare your body to either stay and deal with a threat, or to run away to safety.  Also known as the "acute stress response", this neurological, yet psychological, response is most common in anxiety disorders. I experience this response pretty much every day of my life. It can fog up your mind and common sense, by trying to avoid the situation. When suffering from any mental illness, your mind is your own worst enemy. Do not underestimate how powerful the human brain is. Recently, our nation is being swept by some pretty scary news- the corona virus. However, the news is making it out to be worse than it really is. Yes, it is a highly contagious virus, but, it is also a

Welcome!

Hi Everyone! Since this is the first post on my brand new blog, I figured I would introduce myself and explain my hopes and goals for this page. My name is Charisa Fetters,  I am 16 years old and a junior in high school. The "h" in my name is silent, so it's pronounced KA-RIS-A. The root of it "charis" is biblical greek for God's grace :).I attend an online school since this recent school year had started. I have a BIG passion for Jesus and a heart for helping others. Some of my other passions include music, reading my Bible, writing and journaling, cosmetology, binge-watching tv shows with my mom, animals, and kids (especially those in need). I am apart of my youth group's praise band as a singer. It is one of my absolute favorite things to do, especially bringing glory to God and leading others in worship. A random fact about me is that I have very legit and stubborn food allergies; wheat & milk. My wheat allergy is much worse than my milk aller
